CloudWatch allows you to share dashboards with people who do not have direct access to your AWS account. This enables you to share your dashboards across teams, with stakeholders, and with people external to your organization. You can even display dashboards on big screens in team areas, or embed them into Wikis and other webpages.
When sharing a dashboard, there are three options for you to designate who is allowed to view the dashboard:
By making your dashboard public, anyone can access your dashboard.
Sharing a dashboard publicly makes it accessible to anyone who has the link (without requiring authentication). We do not recommend this option for dashboards that contain sensitive information.
Share dashboardfrom the Actions drop down menu.
You can also choose to share logs. Please be careful when sharing sensitive information.
Start sharing under the
Share your dashboard publicly section.
Type Confirm in the textbox and check the
Enable sharing log widgets checkbox.
Save and generate shareable link button.
On the next page, click
Copy link to clipboard.
Anyone you share the link with can access the dashboard without the need for credentials.
You should see the same dashboard that you saw in the CloudWatch console.
To learn more about other sharing options, please look at the Cloudwatch dashboards sharing documentation.
This concludes the Dashboards module.
